All aspects of family law and resolution following relationship breakdown
We are extremely pleased to have Emma working with us at Williams Thompson. Until recently she was the Head of Family Law at one of the large solicitors practices in the Bournemouth/Poole conurbation and we are delighted that she took the decision to join our specialist family law practice. We were aware of the excellent reputation she had for family law work and see it as confirmation of our reputation as a high quality niche family practice that she chose to move here. We are already benefitting from the experience that she has brought to the firm.
Emma recognises that clients are often in very stressful and challenging situations when they come to seek advice and she provides straightforward and commonsense advice, but with the benefit of her in-depth knowledge of the complex issues that family law can involve. We have already had complements about the professional and helpful way she deals with clients.
As well as being a qualified solicitor since 1996, Emma has also qualified as a Collaborative lawyer and an accredited Mediator. She has recently taken up the role of Secretary to the Bournemouth Collaborative lawyers group and is an active member of the Bournemouth based Phoenix group of mediators. These additional qualifications enable her to look at resolving matters in a constructive and client focussed way.
Emma regularly receives mediation recommendations from other solicitors in the Bournemouth conurbation and this underlines the standing in which her work is regarded.
In the Office
There is no doubt that over the coming years Emma is going to contribute greatly to our reputation as one of the top family law firms in the area. In the relatively short time Emma has been with the firm she has proved herself to be an integral member of the Williams Thompson team. As a result of her hard work, in February 2017 Emma became a Partner and the new Head of the Family Department.
Outside of the Office
Outside of work Emma enjoys cooking and eating and grows some of her own fruit and vegetables. Her varied interests also include ballroom and Latin dancing and motorsport, particularly Moto GP and she is a regular attendee at the Poole Quay bike night.
